Day3: Macau

This is Day3 of my recommended itinerary for Hong Kong in 6 days.

A trip to Macau from Hong Kong, is easily done in one day.

We, in fact, did it in half a day, as kids were tired and wanted to just relax in the hotel swimming pool for the first half of the day.

Visa:
Macau will offer a visa on arrival to passport holders of most countries. Do check it out, and dont forget to carry your passports!

Ferry:
It takes one hour to reach Macau from Hong Kong by ferry. Along with the ferry ticket, do buy discounted tickets to the Macau tower, at the Hong Kong ferry terminal itself.

Getting around:
As we were short of time, we hired a private car at the airport.  Bargain... bargain hard and you might surprise yourself....Hmm... But I would have loved to just walk and explore the city. Most of the casinos offer free shuttles to go to the ferry terminal.

We were at the Macau Tower sky deck, when the evening lights started coming on, all over the city. It was quite awsome.

After visiting all the famous sites in Macau, we asked the tour operator to drop us at the Venetian hotel.

Hotel Venetian:
This hotel is located, not on the main Macau island, but on the Taipa island, which is accessible within 30 to 40 minutes drive.

Do check out the famous sky ceiling at the Venetian. The gondola ride there, is made all the more special, by the charming gondolier, who sings your favourite songs in her really beautiful voice.

Hong Kong currency works in all shops in Macau. So no need to worry about currency conversion.

It was almost 8 in the evening when we entered Venetian, wondering if we even had time to look around, as we had a ferry to catch.... But fear not.... At the end of the evening, we just caught the free shuttle that goes from Venetian to the Taipa Ferry Terminal, where our return tickets were accepted.
